- ROCKSMITH REMASTERED PC WITH GUITAR BUNDLE SOFTWARE
I also thought there may be some advantage to getting an Epiphone, bundled or not, to use with the game but alas, there is no advantage at all. In fact all you actually NEED is just a guitar and a pick and the realtone cable to use Rocksmith.
ROCKSMITH REMASTERED PC WITH GUITAR BUNDLE SOFTWARE
This way I got exactly the guitar I wanted (it was still under $150) and the latest version of the software on my preferred platform (PC) and still had plenty left over to buy the game+cable bundle, picks, a strap, a cheap 10w practice amp (which is NOT needed to get started btw) and amp cable (also not needed to get started). This coupled with falling in love with the Epiphone SG body style (which also doesn't have a bundle package) meant I decided to buy the pieces instead of the bundle and I'm very glad I did. I originally looked into the bundles too but last I checked they don't make them anymore and they tend to come with older versions of the software. I'd just see if you like playing for now and invest in a better amp later.Īny standard guitar is compatible, especially any electric guitar. I would actually skip an amp, as you can use Rocksmith as an amp, and the starter pack amps aren't something you're going to get any significant use out of if you grow as a player. For Example:įender Vintage Modified Stratocaster ($299) or Epi 100 ($240) But you probably looking at another hundred or so above the packs above to create a pretty solid a la carte beginner setup.
ROCKSMITH REMASTERED PC WITH GUITAR BUNDLE UPGRADE
Just know that the included accessories are usually pretty chintzy, and you'll want to upgrade eventually.

That said, if you just want everything to get started without having to worry about it, there's nothing wrong with starter packs. However, if you were willing to spend, say, twice as much on the guitar itself ($299) there are better offerings at that price point (Epi LP 100, Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster, Ibanez RG421, Jackson JS32 series, Gretsch Electromatic Jet). The Epiphone Pro-1 is an acceptable beginner guitar. That said, it's only about the price of the game combined with an Epiphone Player Pack. It's an OK price but be aware that the "accessories" are subpar and not as much of a value add as they'd like you to think. There is still a Pro-1 (Les Paul Junior) bundle that comes with Rocksmith. I don't think that the original game/guitar bundle with the Special II is available any longer.
